Ko‘olau Builders was established in 2010 with the dream of building custom homes with timeless designs, that are unique to each of Oahu’s neighborhoods. We envisioned these homes to be:
- Efficiently designed to serve the needs of those who’d be living in it
- Intuitively designed to reflect the homeowner’s vision and style
- Wisely built for a strong return on investment
- Reflective of our unique Ko‘olau Builders’ style
Over the last decade, we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside many local businesses that share similar core values to ours at Ko‘olau Builders. We strive to be respectful and responsible to our trade, to our clients, and to our team of employees and subcontractors. We continue to learn from the experts in their fields, and are blessed with the opportunity to create and build in such a dynamic industry in the best place on Earth — Hawai‘i Nei.
Born and Raised in Hawai‘i, Nick returned back home in 2005 from Seattle, Washington after an 8 year stay in the northwest. His humble beginnings in the industry began when he started his own Handyman company in 2005 which eventually led him to larger and more complex projects. With a passion for design and a hands-on approach, Nick obtained his General Contractors License and founded Ko‘olau Builders in 2010. When not working, Nick enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He loves to surf, fish, cook and eat and if ever there is a full day off, you can find him trying to do all of the above.
Christine leads with her heart and passion. Her time in the industry began upon returning from Washington state to Hawai‘i in 2005 and working with Nick on renovation and restoration projects in Honolulu. Her creativity, attention to detail, and attentiveness towards her clients is what sets her apart from the rest. Her added sense of building knowledge and experience in the field help to make sensible and practical design choices. Away from work, Chris is always making others feel better with her contagious smile, laugh and personality.
Michelle brings over 2 decades of industry experience to the table. Having worked for larger construction companies earlier in her career, Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge to Ko‘olau’s team. Michelle is humble, loyal, smart and fierce all at the same time. Her willingness to always put team first makes her a perfect fit to lead our office operations.
